NALAUWAKI
Last Sunday, I went to the (Methodist) church service in the village of Nalauwaki on Waya Island. A lali was beaten to begin the mass. The lali is stored in a protective shed, just to the right of the church entrance. The village is right on the water; the residents live in either bures (thatch huts) or concrete houses.
